Deborah Schmitt is a Florida native who has been practicing in the Tampa Bay area since 1996. She is a graduate of Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana and Valparaiso University School of Law in Valparaiso, Indiana. Ms. Schmitt served as an appellate clerk to the Honorable George B. Hoffman of the Court of Appeals of Indiana between 1993-1996. She has been practicing Marital & Family Law since 2000, and has experience litigating many bench trials in Hillsborough, Pinellas, Pasco, Hernando, Polk, Manatee as well as jury trials in state and federal court. Ms. Schmitt’s experience in Family Law includes dissolution of marriage (simplified and contested), post-judgment modification, pre and post judgment agreements, domestic violence, time sharing agreements, and child dependency. She has also litigated complex family law matters including paternity matters involving intervention of a biological parent, and UCCJEA issues requiring hearings in two states, international kidnappings, and equitable trusts to secure rights in property.
